As I said, the patch fixed many things but it still has bugs. Some of them are funny, though, like this one from the video I’ve just taken.

I put this video together with a bit here and there from the beginning of both SH2 and SH3 in the HD collection, after patching.

Edit: During the scene where Heather is running upstairs, there is some sound out of synch. This is my fault, as this happened while putting the video together. In the game such lack of synch doesn’t exist.

Today, a patch for HD Collection was released. I am going to play both, SH2 and SH3 to let you know about what they fixed and sadly, about what they DID NOT fix.
I’ve taken a bunch of videos and pictures, to illustrate what’s better and what’s not so much better. At this point, the worst points have to do with SH2.
First is the intro, and the CGs in general. They are stretched and pixellized AND losing color quality even. If you play the intro with the new dubbing, you will also hear the voice acting ONLY during the jail scene. Which is sad.
Second, the translation mistakes. There are still a lot of translation mistakes if you play the Spanish version, mistakes that make me want to burn my eyes. I guess they couldn’t care less about it.

In my interview with Tomm Hulett and Adam Teirney, Tomm stated that the Silent Hill HD Collection patch will be the first to arrive. “The HD Collection patch is coming along pretty well, so you should look forward to that soon. The Downpour patch is being worked on; so you should get the HD Collection one first.” said Tomm.

“We got all the source code that Konami had on file — which it turns out wasn’t the final release version of the games! D’oh!” says Huelett, “So during debug we didn’t just have to deal with the expected ‘porting’ bugs, but also had to squash some bugs that the original team obviously removed prior to release, but we’d never seen before. A lot of assets such as textures and sound had to be taken out of the compiled game, and that brings with it a host of unique issues, especially taken on top of the tricky coding workarounds at play in the original games. We certainly had our hands full. I think at one point Heather was blue.”
I don’t support the fact that they try to blame it on Konami because that’s childish, however this throws a bit more of light on what happened.
With this said, I wish that Konami would stop ignoring us, and stop promoting SH Book of Memories (that NOBODY wants) and would release at once a fix for this game.

Well, Konami promised a patch for SH HD, but it isn’t coming.
When is it coming?
I can’t finish my SH2 cause of the bug I talked about earlier. I want the patch already. We all do.

Two rants, and one of them is HUGE.
First, a smaller one. I took a video to show it. Not even mentioning Mary’s voice (seriously, McGlynn can make Maria’s voice work, why can’t she make Mary’s voice work too?), but rather the horrid video edition. Why the heck did they decide that making a frame like a TV was a good idea?
Don’t watch the video if you haven’t finished Silent Hill 2.
We don’t want a TV FRAME.
Another rant, a bigger one. After this, when I save at the last savepoint before the battle with the two PH. I’ve had problems with the screen going back at times, but it never bugged me so much. Now it makes me go up the wall, and why?
Because, as I open the door for the battle and James is running towards one of the doors, before seeing Maria for the last time (and you will know what I mean), the screen GOES BLACK so I miss the whole video because I have to press Select to get the image back again, and then what’s next? the two PH attacking me.
I miss the whole scene because of a game bug that has to do with playing with the new voices.
I am angry.

Well, this is good news! at least they know about the issues…
I really want to send Konami this website when we reach more complaints. Please people keep submitting!
I upload this video that I just took today for two reasons.
This is the hallway that leads James to the Purgatory after entering the hole on the wall at the Historical Society.
First of all, the siren sound that could be heard here before, is gone. And it’s awful because it leads you to another kind of Otherworld, that doesn’t exist in real. So it would be very logical and obvious a siren sound, but they deleted it.
Second, James’ more than irregular walking (and running) rythim. Some days ago another user submitted a video where James can be seen lagging down in his walking. This happens too.
Everytime, after walking 6 or 10 steps (or running), James abruptly stops to restart walking/running. It’s like they programmed this sequence irregularly.
And, while I didn’t capture it (and on the topic of deleting important sounds), when James sees PH for the first time (behind those bars) in Blue Creek, and then you go back to the staircase, there was a sound of PH dragging his Great Knife on the floor that you could hear only in this part while on stairs. Well, they also deleted THAT one.
